Sebsebe Demissew is Professor of Plant Systematics at AAU; custodian of The National Herbarium at AAU; and Leader of the Ethiopian Flora Project. He is Winner of the Third World Academy of Sciences Prize for Young Scientists; Honorary Research Fellow of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; and the recipient of an Honorary Degree from the University of Nottingham. He is member of the International Association of Plant Taxonomists and the Royal Danish Academic of Sciences and Letters. He has published extensively.
