Samuel Lakeou is Professor of Electrical Engineering (Professor Emeritus) at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), Washington DC, USA. He has served as department chairperson for more than 20 years and taught for more than thirty years, including at Addis Ababa Institute of Technology (AAiT). He has conducted several solar energy projects in rural Ethiopia, including the first hybrid solar/wind project. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Bahir Dar University 2009/10. He was the PI of several research grants, including NSF and NASA grants totaling more than $500,000. He is a Life Senior Member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He has published more than 40 technical and conference papers.
